Both the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the University of Ljubljana are consortium partners of the European Media and Communication Doctoral Summer School. Nico Carpentier is its international director, and Ilija Tomanic-Trivundža was its local coordinator when the Summer School took place at the University of Ljubljana (2010-2012). Both have been involved in editing the yearly Summer School book.
