Marie Tuley is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at the University of Sussex, UK. She is currently also a Visiting Researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Her PhD thesis investigates the links between the construction of national identities and the discourse on migrant integration policies. Working in a poststructural framework, the thesis makes use of Poststructural Discourse Theory and concepts from Critical Discourse Analysis. Marie will also carry out ethnographic research as part of her thesis, investigating how integration policies are enacted at the local level, and the impact thereof. In addition to discourse theory, her research interests include gender, feminist theory, postcolonial and decolonial theories and (national) identities. Marie has an MA from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) in Cultural Anthropology and Development Studies and a BA (Hons) from the University of Nottingham, UK in languages and literature.
