Fatima Zahid alivrije universiteit brusselFatima Zahid Ali is a PhD Researcher with the ECHO research group at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in Brussels, Belgium. She is currently working on a doctoral thesis on language appropriation and abrogation by the transgender subaltern in postcolonial media discourses. Other research interests include emerging subcultures in South Asia, more specifically in Pakistan. She also works as a teaching assistant at the Department of Communication Sciences (SCOM).
Previously, she obtained an MBA from University of Wales in 2015 and an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree (EMJMD) in Digital Communication Leadership (DCLead) in 2020 from University of Salzburg in Austria and Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium. Crossing lines between the academy and the industry, she is originally trained as a journalist (2011) and has 10 years of professional experience in the corporate communications and digital marketing sector. |
