Eva De SmedtErasmushogeschool BrusselEva De Smedt is a researcher and lecturer at the Erasmus Brussels University of Applied Sciences. Within the research centre Applied Futures Research | Open Time, she puts discourse analytic methods to use within the interdisciplinary field of futures studies. She is currently involved in a case study for CIVA, a key player in the cultural and architectural urban landscapes in Brussels. The research focuses on exploring images of the future for the design, mediation and archiving of urban culture in Brussels, with a focus on the city’s canal area. Eva's research interests include futures studies, discourse studies, journalism, tourism, and leisure. Her PhD, finished in 2015 at the VUB, focused on the construction of media professional identities in political television talk.
