Anar KoliSoka University, JapanAnar Koli is associate professor in the Faculty of International Liberal Arts at Soka University, Japan. She teaches International Political Economy, and International Relations. Originally from Bangladesh, she was also visiting fellow at the Centre for Ideology and Discourse Analysis, University of Essex, in 2021-22. She has published in the areas of environmental politics, focusing on climate change, social vulnerability, environmental policy networks, and civil society. Her current research involves using post-structural discourse analysis theory to understand and characterize the eco-politics with a particular focus on climate politics. She has been working on how neoliberal ideology and narratives of global environmentalism affectively grip the subject, justify the extension of the market-based solutions with reference to efficiency ideals, and promote the commodification of nature.
