David OngenaertCharles University in PragueDavid Ongenaert works as a postdoctoral researcher at The Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. He examines the discursive construction of peace with a focus on the Russian-Ukrainian war. Previously, he worked as a lecturer at the Department of Media & Communication at Erasmus University Rotterdam. David obtained a PhD in Communication Sciences from Ghent University in 2022. He investigated the public communication strategies of international refugee organizations. His research interests include peace and conflict studies, media and migration studies, media and cultural studies and discourse. David is a co-chair of ECREA’s International and Intercultural Communication Section, and a member of the editorial boards of Global Perspectives in Communication and the Journal of Global Diaspora & Media. He has been a visiting fellow at the University of Oslo. He is also a member of the Culture and Communication Research Centre (CULCORC).
